Yeah. Badged as such, but would be classed the same as the RS1800 fiesta.

I agree to a degree but .... the rs2000 was and is an iconic car was it not ? isntit almost like saying the ers is just an escort with a cosworth engine

Just a shitbox 90's fwd escort. Better than an RS turbo but still a heap of junk.

Maybe a bit quicker than a rs turbo but if it were a mint rs2000 or rs turbo it would be the turbo every time ! Mk2 rs2000,s were amazing in their day then they brought the mk5 out that was a disappointment

I wouldn't own one myself as i prefer a Turbo'd car but i don't agree with them not being a true RS they competed at motorsport level didn't they

I'm not a snob. I stated what I see on here, not what I believe to be true.

I think the RS1800 fiesta is an epic car. Rs2000 I heard always break. Oh well.

Don't hold the same kudos as the previous mk3/4 rs turbo's imo, possibly because they did another rs mk5/6 escort at the same time that had a cosworth badge on the back lol so have to agree with someone else who said the escos overshadowed it!
Tbh if i see one going down the road or at a show etc i don't look twice but do if i see an rs turbo or cossie...I always wanted an rs turbo as a kid and would have loved to own an escos but the mk5/6 rs2000 just never sprang to mind!
They have their follower obviously and i can appreciate an exceptionally clean one

Bit harsh on the old RS2k, they're not that bad a car to be fair and can be a right hoot with a few tweeks. And that's coming from somebody is far from a fan

I think as with the RS1800 Fiesta it was more of a weak marketing excercise and neither delivered quite enough in many peoples eyes.

Apart from the wheels I think that looks really good

i personally think they are over shadowed by bigger and more powerful rs's. they may not be the best rs but they are still nice cars. IMO

I love my RS2000. Was after an RS turbo but the seller messed me about. Had a look on pistonheads and took a gamble. Been a great wee car. Zero trouble in almost 3 yrs. However, I have had some stick from folk saying I've stuck an RS badge on a GTI escort. They are a cheap way into RS ownership and are great for a daily, especially if you only have the one car.

Personally as has been said, I think it was overshadowed by the escos. Can't really compare back to the S1 & S2 as it wasn't the same generation.

A real RS? The RS2000 was just a boggo escort with a bigger engine and a few body/interior parts to set it apart from the 1.3L. But at the end of the day it's a small family hatchback from a mainstream car manufacturer!

Just like EVERY other 'RS' badged car. Including the RS500............... People here bang on like they're Ferrari, or Lambourghini or some other 'Top Marque'............

Wise up folks, RS is just a badge at the end of the day. The RS2000 IS a real RS. The fact it's badged as an RS makes that pretty fucking obvious. Doesn't matter if it's any good does it, still an RS!

PF cracks me up sometimes

Just bought a mk6 rs2000 and love it, such a cracking little car. Torquey and makes a great everyday car for nipping around in.

It's worthy of the rs badge IMO. A nice tuneable engine. Good looks. Nice comfy recaros. What more should it have?

The top and bottom of it is yes, it's an RS, wether people think its a 'proper' RS, is just there opinion, but some people get there opinion confused with fact, and the FACT is, it's a RS

Great cars, really handle exceptionally well for a fwd, just about enough power, ultra reliable. What's not to like?

Are you fucking stupid?

Where did I mention my evo? I am well aware that my Evo is a std Jap shitbox with a big engine and some recaros. Thats why I like it.

Although the pic you have show is waaaaaaay newer than the Lancer that my Evo is based on.
