if it's a plug and play system then it's easy

undo some of the trim in the back, find the loom conections, plug it in, put it back together again

you will need to power the relay for the indicators from another source that is live when the ignition is on or they will flash too fast/too slow and the tow ball wiring is easy as it's 7 wires all very clearly marked out

if you have problems just take a pic of what you are trying to do or post up the link to the witter bar you've got

yes mate

the witter stuff just plugs into them inline with the wires going to the tow bar wiring as well

you have to plug in both sides and it gives you all you need to do

i'd take mine apart to show you what i mean, but it's fairly well screwed together

one bit of advice though, where ever you take the power for the indicators, make sure you can reach the fuse fairly easily, mine dangles in the rear just under the parcel shelf as i've taken it from the rear power outlet

The buzzer is a legal requirement, I think the thing that may be confusing you, is the lack of mention on some witter instructions of the need to cut the original feed wires to the indicators, the buzzer is then inserted in between the original feed and the indicator lamp/s, 1 of the other wires on the buzzer goes to earth, the remaining 2 go to the trailer socket.
Look on www.towingandtrailers.co.uk on here is a excellent, CLEAR diagram under 12N electrics.
The normal towing plug on cars is called 12N(for Normal), and is coloured black, there is an extra socket some have/may need that powers such things as caravan battery charging, fridge etc, called 12S(for supplementary), not needed though unless you have caravan really, so just don't fit one.
If your car has lamp failure warning ?, you will need a 7 way bypass box, if not you won't, even if you do have car lamp failure warning this can be left off it will just light up when trailer connected that's all.
Pm if you get any more stuck and I'll dig the neighbours mk2 focus out so I can tell you step by step.

Just probe the cars wiring to determine the wires needed, after fitting bar solder the wires in, just leave off the indicators till last.
Now looking at instructions for the trailer beeper/indicator flasher, identify the indicator wires each side(will need to lengthen one no doubt), and take a wire feed from here to the beeper unit as per instructions supplied with it, then it will say take the (colour) wire from the beeper unit to pin no(whatever one) of the trailer socket.
The remaining wire from the beeper unit goes to earth, all this in effect does is put the beeper unit between the cars electrics and the tow socket.
It will be from the beeper unit two different colour wires which are hooked onto the indicator wiring(one each side), according to their colour, then there will need to be connected to the socket a YELLOW wire to pin position 1, this if for the left indicator, , it will also have a GREEN wire this is the right indicator from the beeper and goes to pin 4 of the socket.
Download the socket piccie to assist, if still stuck, pm me the wire colour designation from the beeper unit, and I'll draw it out and email you the diagram.

you will pnly need 7 way bypass if you have full bulb warning or you have duty cycled rear lamps, and you dont need to cut the roiginal indicators, you just connect onto them.

Mine was the 12v socket in the back of the load compartment, but mines is a mondeo and an estate so you may need to run a new wire from something. Better still, find an ignition live in the back of the car and tap onto that, assuming you'll have the correct voltage and fuse to be able to run it.

with some of the later vehicles you are better buying the proper kit some times only from the dealer as those smart relays sometimes cause problems, don't think it is required on mk2 focus thou..

If I remember right you need to whip it over to Ford to have the GEM updated to work with the extra indicators etc.
