Default Replacing clutch cable on m reg transit

The clutch cable on the work van snapped this morning, just manged to get a new one.

All i was wondering is, when fitting the new one, do i need to adjust the rachet on the pedal or anything, or will it sort itself out and just a case of putting the new one in.?

Cheers

it will sort itself out when you have pressed the pedal a few times mate. the hardest bit is getting the grommet back in the bulkhead.

Yeah its got the self adjuster. I fitted it about ten mins ago, it wouldnt go into gear, so pressed it a few times to see if it would adjust and then it snapped again .

Any ideas why it would have snapped lol, before i waste another 16 quid, then again they might give it me free as i only got it this morning

was the clutch heavy? might need a new clutch. they usually strip the teeth off the self adjuster before they snap the cable, did you have it routed properly?
